Weston Super Mare's Famous Donkeys

R Mager & Son’s famous donkeys are open for rides 7 days per week (weather permitting) form Easter to October.

We can accommodate ages from 12 months right up to 14 year olds.
 
The Mager families donkey business was established as far back as 1886 on Weston's beach. The family have been operating on the sands here ever since. Mr. Ron Mager, who is currently the senior member of the family, has held a license for donkey rides on Weston beach, since the 1940s. 

The donkeys are mostly home bred ensuring that their gentle temperament and good conformation are passed down through the generations, but some are also occasionally bought or rescued from elsewhere, and retrained to give rides. They usually take to this very well as they enjoy being active and love peoples attention.

The Donkeys have the luxury of only working about 7 months of the year. The rest of the year the Donkeys spend their holidays on various local farms where they’re thoroughly spoilt by local children  as well as a few grown up kids who can still remember the good old days.
